Yorito was founded in 1735. It is located in the Yorito Valley and shares borders with the municipalities of Sulaco, Yoro, Marale and Victoria. Yorito is located 180 km north of the capital city and it rests in a plateau named San Jose. It has a territorial extension of 213.4 km². The library in Yorito was inaugurated on December 15th, 2005.
