Guatemalita is located 141 km north of the capital city and belongs to the municipality of Orica. The community has an approximate population of 1,400 people. Guatemalita features a broken terrain because the community sits in the skirts of La Flor Mountain. The weather is very pleasant, also due to its location at the foot of the mountain. The main economic activity is small-scale agriculture and cattle-farming. The library, Biblioteca Pública Riecken Guatemalita, was inaugurated on December 16, 2005.
