Free Internet is the backbone of each Riecken library. The Foundation also equips the libraries with new computers, digital cameras, document scanners, video equipment and other technology tools. The libraries link people to each other, to ideas and to opportunities, providing powerful tools for improving communities and strengthening their participation in the bigger world.

On an individual level, information technology offers a multitude of ways that library users can enhance the quality of their lives, from Internet research to online banking, from blogging to distance learning. The libraries are connected to each other electronically through the Riecken Network, a Web-based portal through which communities share ideas and help one another solve problems.
